Game Comments: In the third quarterfinal game of the day it was the Bourbonnais Maternity BVM Wildcats taking on the Monmouth ICS Trojans. Both teams started off the game cold. It wasn’t until a couple minute into the game that Peter Gray would get the Wilcats on the board first. The Trojans would be quick to answer with two buckets of their own to take the lead. Sam Gillen would score all six of the Trojan points in the first quarter. Daniel Hoekstra of the Wildcats sent up a 50 foot shot that he made at the end of the first quarter. That momentum would carry over and his team would drain three more three point baskets in the second quarter. The Wildcats took a 13 point lead going into the half. The Trojans would only have one player who scored through the first three quarters and it was Sam Gillen. That would not be enough though as the Wildcats would stay in the driver’s seat and take the game by a final score of 41-29. They will move into the semifinals later today at 6:30 p.m. Congratulations to the Trojans on a great season. |
