| Game Comments: The Casey-Westfield Braves and the St. Joseph Panthers squared off in the first semifinal game of the night. Casey-Westfield caught St. Joseph by surprise and jumped out to a 9-0 lead to start the game. But after a timeout, St. Joseph would settle down and Katie Landis would come up with five big points in the first quarter. St. Joseph would end up closing the gap in the second quarter to just one point. It was Conner Cutright who would nail a jumper to extend the lead back to three for Casey-Westfield. After the half, Casey-Westfield had another run to help extend their lead. But that would not last for long and St. Joseph came storming back to cut the lead to one. Casey-Westfield made a big free to go up by two. The second free throw missed, but they got the rebound and the put back to push the lead to four. Kyleigh Decker would hit two more free throws to put Casey-Westfield up by six and into the championship game. The final score of the game was 38-32. Casey-Westfield will play next Thursday for the championship at 7:30 p.m. St. Joseph will be playing in the third place game at 6:00 p.m. Congratulations to both teams on their performances tonight. |
