| Game Comments: The Wooden Shoes of Teutopolis captured their 3rd 7th grade Class 3A title in the last four years with a 54-41 victory over the Chieftains of Burr Ridge Middle School. T-Town finishes their season with 24 wins and 5 losses while Burr Ridge completes the 2012-13 campaign at 20-4. Teutopolis seemed to have complete control of the game as they led 29-15 at halftime. However, the Chieftains came roaring back in the 3rd quarter outscoring the Wooden Shoes 19-9 in the quarter. The end of the 3rd quarter provided plenty of thrills as Joffari Brown made a layup with 5 seconds to go to cut the T-Town lead to six at 38-32. A sloppy inbounds pass by T-Town was stolen by Burr Ridge and a layup at the buzzer for Burr Ridge cut the lead to four at the end of 3rd quarter, 38-34. Korvante Davis scored on a layup for Burr Ridge for the first points of the 4th quarter to cut the lead to just two. Two free throws and a rebound basket by T-Town got the lead back to six at 42-36. Brown then drained a 3 pointer for the Chieftains to cut the lead in half at 42-39 with 4:15 left in the game. However, from that point on, it was all Wooden Shoes as they outscored Burr Ridge, 12-2, the rest of the game. Brown led all scorers with 23 points while Collin Funneman and Lee Hardiek tied for team high honors for Teutopolis with 16 points. Congratulations to both teams on outstanding seasons. |
