| Game Comments: Ridge Ackerman of Springfield Franklin made two free throws late in the 4th quarter to give the Falcons a 49-46 lead. Morton took the ball the length of the court and called a timeout with 4 seconds remaining. On the inbounds play, Will Headean was fouled while attempting a game tying 3 point shot. Headean made the first of three free throws to close the gap to 49-47. His second attempt rattled around the rim and bounced out. His third free throw bounced off the front of the rim to the right side of the court. Headean rebounded his missed free throw and attempted a game winning three point basket that would have counted. However, the shot was off the mark and the Falcons, who outscored the Potters 36-24 in the second half came away the victor. Franklin advances to Thursday's championship game while Morton suffered its first loss of the season and will play for third place. |
