Lovejoy starters: 4, 10, 23, 33, 34. Game started at 6:10 p.m. Kyle Crowley of Pontiac St. Mary's hit a three-point shot from the left side of the lane with just less than a minute to go in the second quarter to put his team ahead for the first time,17-14. It was the only three-pointer by either team in the first half. Lovejoy's Devin Jones scored two layups in the first minute of the third quarter to narrow the deficit to 19-18 and Carlos Owens hit a layup at the 3:31 mark to give Lovejoy its first lead of the second half at 22-21. A three-pointer by St. Mary's Kyle Crowley put St. Mary's ahead 26-22 with 2:44 left in the 3rd quarter and a free throw by Tim Tjarks put St. Mary's in front 27-22 with 1:58 remaining in the period. Lovejoy's Derrick Johnson hit a three-pointer from the right side with :33.2 left in the third quarter to tie the game at 28-28 and teammate Carlos Owens put in a rebound jumper from in the paint at the buzzer for a 30-28 Lovejoy lead heading into the 4th quarter.
