Match Comments: La Harpe Starters: 21, 7,9, 14, 24, 20. Mt. Pulaski Starters: 1, 27, 25, 5, 11, 15. Game 1 -- LaHarpe scored the first six points of the game for a 6-0 lead. and led 12-7 before Mt. Pulaski's Alexa Meister got a kill to start the change in momentum. A kill by Mt. Pulaski's Jessica Awe tied the game at 13-13 and Mt. Pulaski jumped the lead to 17-13 on a kill by Alexa Meister. Mt. Pulaski got the lead to 20-14 on a block by Jessica Awe. La Harpe got the deficit to 24-17 before Holly McDowell's kill for La Harpe went long. Game 2 -- It was the Shock and (Jessica) Awe in this one. She had three kills and served for 6 points to lead the way. She served for five in a row, including 3 aces, and Mt. Pulaski moved from a 3-1 lead to an 8-1 margin. Leading 11-5 on a kill by Erika Leever, the Honeybears got a string of 6 straight service points from Breanna Howe whose howitzer like shots blasted away at the middle of the La Harpe defense. When Howe was done, Mt. Pulaski led 17-5. LaHarpe made a short run with Elyce Trout serving to cut the deficit from 23-8 to 23-11 before a kill by Mt. Pulaski's Rachel Durchholz made it 24-11 and Jessica Awe capped the scoring for Mt. Pulaski with a rocket jump serve down the middle for an ace.
