Match Comments: The first match of the 7-2A state tournament was a great one. Both teams fought hard to win and advance to the semifinals. Lewistown took the first match as Holy Trinity was slow to start. MaKenna Barker for Lewistown served 6 straight points to give the Indians a 20-11 lead. In game two of the match the lead changed hands several times. Both teams looked settled into their game at the beginning of the match as Central #12 Marissa Grigsby served four point and then Holy Trinity answered with 7 straight service points from #7 Caroline Holt. Holy Trinity was up 24-22 and after a timeout #17 Danielle Moore came back to serve the game winner. Game three looked like it would be a slam dunk for Lewistown as they went up quickly 15-4. #33 Claudia Zitkus served 4 points to bring Holy Trinity back into the game 15-12. Late in the game the score was 23-19 Lewistown and #12 Kaitlyn Baughman served 4 straight points and one ace to tie the game at 23-23. Holy Trinity was unable to keep the rally going and #5 Maddi Pratt for Lewistown served the game winning point.
