Game Comments: The Class A Championship game pitted the Wildcats of Bourbonnais Maternity BVM against the Braves of Casey-Westfield. The Wildcats scored 2 runs on three hits in the first inning. Abbie Netherton, Baylee Hull and Hanna Lambert all had singles to give the Wildcats the early lead. Casey-Westfield answered in the bottom of the 1st inning with a single by Darian Morgan and a triple by Maleah Neal to cut the lead in half. The Braves continued their run in the second inning scoring four more runs and adding seven more unanswered runs in the 4th and 5th innings. Offensive attack was lead by Maleah Neal four hits and five RBI's, Darian Morgan with three hits and 3 RBI's, and Conner Cutright 3 hits and 2 RBI's. In the top of the 7th inning the Wildcats made a run with two outs, scoring three more runs, but were unable to make up the deficit. This is Coach Chey Howe and Casey-Westfield's first Class A state championship. Congratulations to both teams on a great season.
