| Game Comments: The first semifinal game of the night was a battle all the way till the end. Chicago Heights Washington and Mendota Northbrook were on the floor to decide who gets a spot in the championship game next week. Washington was the team to jump out in front in the first half. Washington held the lead over Northbrook by six going into the half. Washington's Rayonia Young kept her team going with a nice layup to extend the lead. But it was Northbrook's Brooke Carroll who would answer right back with a layup of her own. Northbrook would cut the lead to only two points, but it was Rayonia Young again with a three to put Washington back up by five going into the fourth. Defensive intensity was raised in the fourth quarter by both teams. Washington would hang onto the lead and a spot in the championship game next Thursday. Northbrook will play in the third place game. Congratulations to both teams. |
