Game Comments: Dixmoor Rosa Parks controlled the tempo of their game with Washington Central from the beginning of the contest and cruised to a 47-37 victory to advance to the semifinals of the 7th grade Class 3A boys basketball tournament. Rosa Parks, which received a game high 19 points from Cayshawn Mister, improved their record to 11-4 while Washington Central concludes a terrific season at 21-5. The Cougars will face Teutopolis later this evening with the winner of that game advancing to the championship game on Thursday while the loser of the contest will play for third place honors. Mister was the catalyst for the Cougars in the game as he was able to penetrate and dish the ball off to teammates or score when needed. Rosa Parks led 15-7 after one quarter, had a 14 point lead at halftime, and a 17 point lead headng into the last quarter. The game was never in serious doubt during the second half although the Trojans did manage to outscore Rosa Parks by 8 in the final stanza. Good luck to Rosa Parks the rest of the way. Congratulations to both teams. |
