Brynn Boundy

Principal: Mr. Kyle Bielfeldt

Interscholastic activities have taught Brynn Boundy the importance of sportsmanship, the value of teamwork, and how to be a leader. These traits, along with outstanding academic performance, have led to her selection as the Scholar Attitude Award winner for Board of Directors Division G.

Brynn has been named to High Honor Roll throughout junior high and participates in softball, basketball, volleyball, Student Council, band and Art Club. She's most proud of winning the Leadership Award in her school's softball program. "I have learned every team for every sport requires a leader," she says. "A leader picks a team up and is everybody's personal cheerleader. I am lucky to be part of such a wonderful team, so it is important that I give it my all every play, no matter what the sport may be."

Her team came through for her this year when Brynn broke her arm playing softball. Allowing her classmates to help her with simple tasks like carrying her books taught her it's OK to need help sometimes and that it's easier to get through setbacks with friends at your side. In addition, her coach allowed her to help coach the team while Brynn was sidelined from playing. "I was able to see the game from a different perspective," she says now. "It was a good experience for me."

One of the many benefits of participating in athletics is learning good sportsmanship, Brynn says. "Sportsmanship shows an abundance of character. Athletes with good sportsmanship show that they give credit where credit is due. I have also learned that sports teach you a lot about teamwork."
