Ariane Wright

Edwardsville Liberty

Ariane Wright

Principal:

Ariane Wright of Edwardsville Liberty is all about academic excellence, but when it comes to sports, this young woman is dedicated to running in track and cross-country.

She says her greatest accomplishment is completing a ten mile race, because it's the longest race she's ever run and she clocked in at 7:15 per mile. She never thought she could run that fast for so long and it proved to her hard work pays off.

Ariane also thinks there'd be a big pay off in the world if there were no alcohol and drugs. She says crime would plummet, specifically child abuse. It is the one change she would make in the world.

Ariane's future college career will include running, but she ultimately sees herself as a science teacher, following in the footsteps of her science teacher and running coach, Mr. Chapman. He's also the person she admires most. Ariane says she feeds off of his energy and inspirational style.
