Cahokia Wirth Girls Track Team Ruled Ineligible for 2012 Class AA State Meet

The IESA Board of Directors has ruled that the girls track team from Cahokia Wirth is in violation of IESA By-Law 3.081 and as a result will not be allowed to participate in the Class AA state track and field meet this weekend, May 18-19. A student was allowed to participate in the sectional meet under an assumed name. "This decision to rule the entire girls team ineligible was not taken lightly," said Steve Endsley, IESA Executive Director. "Education is at the very core of what the IESA is all about. I hope the message to Cahokia Wirth and all schools for that matter is that honesty and integrity must always be at the forefront of everything done in interscholastic activities."
