Good sportsmanship is one of the primary purposes of the junior high school interscholastic activities program. All participants in the IESA are responsible for promoting, teaching, enforcing and recognizing the highest standards of sportsmanship. Students, coaches, administrators and fans representing IESA member schools are expected to demonstrate the highest level of sportsmanship and respect for others. Sportsmanship is everyone's responsibility!
Not only is good sportsmanship necessary for a successful interscholastic activity, it is a character quality that contributes to successful life endeavors. The experience and knowledge your students are gaining from today's activities will serve as their foundation for the future. It is vital that our schools and communities do not overlook the importance and impact of this life tool.
