Match Comments: The Eureka Hornets and the Pleasant Plains Cardinals met in the semifinals to see who would be playing for a state championship on Tuesday night. These two teams would not disappoint. The first set was a battle for who wanted control of the contest. Lily Slifer would help the Cardinals with six straight service points. But Lauren Rokey had her own answer with six service points of her own for the Hornets. The Hornets take the first set by a score of 25-23. The Cardinals regrouped in the second set and came out ready to play. They would jump ahead early and control the lead. Skyler Davis would pour on 10 service points to help lead the Cardinals to a 25-15 victory. The third set turned out to be the most exciting. Both teams battled all the way to the end. The Cardinals would manage to hold on for the victory by a score of 25-23. They will move into the Championship game on Tuesday night at 6:45 p.m. The Hornets will play in the third place game at 5:30.
