Teutopolis vs. Toledo Cumberland
Toledo Cumberland jumped to an 8-0 lead, increased it to 15-4 early in the second quarter. Macy Shupe had 10 of Cumberland's 19 points at halftime. Victoria Wolke and Haley Sparks each made three-pointers for Toledo Cumberland. Teutopolis outscored Toledo Cumberland 20-7 in the second half to earn the comeback win. Meghan Kroeger hit a short jumper from left left side with 0:34 left in 4th quarter to give Teutopolis the lead for the first time in the game at 28-26. Becke Niebrugge made three free throws in the final 26 seconds to seal the win. Katie Wendt led Teutopolis with 11 points and Megan Kroeger added 10. Macy Shupe led Toledo Cumberland with 10, all coming in the first half. Toledo Cumberland bowed out of the tournament with a 23-1 record. Teutopolis advanced at 23-0.
Chatham Glenwood vs. Canton Ingersoll
Jessica Thum and Katie Harkless each scored 4 points in the 1st quarter to lead Canton Ingersoll to a 10-4 lead after the quarter. Chatham Glenwood's Mariah Albert hit 2 free throws with 2:05 left in the 2nd quarter to cut the deficit to 10-9 and Abby Cress made 1 of 2 FT with 0:43 left to tie the game. Canton Ingersoll's Mallory Moser hit a pair of free throws on the 1 and bonus with 0:11 left in the 2nd quarter to give Canton Ingersoll a 12-10 lead and score its only points of the second quarter. Canton Ingersoll built a 26-20 lead with 5:24 early in the fourth quarter and then was shutout the rest of the way as Chatham Glenwood used free throws down the stretch to take the 28-26 win. A layup by Mariah Albert with 1:58 left cut the Glenwood deficit to 26-25. With 1:17 left Albert made 1 of 2 FT to tie the score at 26-26. With 1:11 to go Lindsay Humke hit 1 of 2 FT for a 27-26 lead and with 0:22 to go Glenwood's Allison Fraase made 1 of 2 FT for the 28-26 margin. A three-point shot by Canton Ingersoll's Ally Conway bounced twice off the rim and backboard and fell off as time ran out. The win moved Chatham Glenwood (20-3) int a semifinal against Teutopolis (23-0) Thursday night at Kingsley. Canton Ingersoll ended 23-1.
Carlinville vs. Quincy
After a close 1st quarter that saw Quincy hold a narrow 9-8 lead, the Comets used a 5-0 run to start the 2nd quarter which stretched their lead to 14-8. At halftime the score was 16-11 in favor of Quincy. Carlinville came out strong in the 2nd half as they used an 8-0 run and held a 19-16 lead. A three point goal by Hannah Kvittle of Quincy tied the game at 19. The third quarter ended tied at 23. Carlinville held a 4 point lead, 27-23, until the 2:19 mark of the 4th quarter when Kvittle made two free throws to cut the deficit to 27-25. Carlinville held the two point lead until the 1:31 mark when Lindsey Barton of Quincy made a bucket to tie the game at 27. Shelby Wires then stole the ball and made a layup with 43 seconds remaining to give Quincy a 29-27 lead. The victory was sealed when Allison Hill made a basket with 10 seconds remaining in the game. Quincy advances to Thursday's night championship game with a 19-1 record while Carlinville will play in the third place game on Thursday.
Teutopolis vs. Chatham Glenwood
Chatham Glenwood led 7-4 after one quarter but a superb defensive effort by Teutopolis in the 2nd quarter allowed the Wooden Shoes to take a 10-8 halftime lead. Chatham Glenwood, which was held to just one point in the second quarter, was led in scoring in the first half by Courtney Morris with four points. Teutopolis' leading scorer in the first half was Allison Windell with six points. Chatham startd the third quarter with a 6-0 run to take a 14-10 lead. Teutopolis finally broke their scoring drought at the 3:38 mark to cut the lead to 14-12 and tied the score at 14 all with 2:19 left in the third quarter. Glenwood responded with two baskets to take a four point lead. T-Town scored with 35 seconds remaining to make the score 18-16. Glenwood then made three free throws with no time left in the third quarter which made the score at the end of the third quarter, 21-16. Glenwood led 25-20 until the 1:17 mark in the 4th quarter when Windell made a two point goal to cut the deficit to 25-22. Megan Kroeger then made two consecutive baskets, the last one coming with 21 seconds remaining to put the Wooden Shoes up 26-25. Glenwood called a timeout with 16 seconds left in the game. Mariah Albert scored the game winner for Chatham with 6 seconds left in the game. Chatham advances to the title game on Thursday against Quincy. Teutopolis, which suffered its first loss of the season, will play Carlinville for third place.
Carlinville vs. Teutopolis
In the first half, Teutopolis jumped to a 6-0 lead on a layup by Katie Wendt with 2:31 left in the 1st quarter and Teutopolis maintained that margin throughout the first half. Teutopolis got 6 points from Wendt, 4 from Megan Kroeger and had four players score in the first half. Tuetopolis led 8-4 after the 1st quarter. Carlinville's Elizabeth Kelly got her team's first points late in both the first and second quarters. She hit from the key with 2:02 left in the 1st to put Carlinville on the board and cut the deficit to 6-2. Carlinville did not score in the second quarter until Kelly fired one in from the right side of the lane with 1:29 left in the quarter. Then Carlinville's Nikki Boente went coast to coast on a breakaway to cut the deficit to 13-8 with 0:57 left in the half. Teutopolis' Becky Niebrugge bumped the lead to seven at the half with a long jumper from the right side with 0:20 to go. In the second half, Teutopois outscored Carlinville 30-2 and had 10 players score in the fourth quarter. Carlinville went frigid from the field in the final 12 minutes. Carlinville's only points in the second half came at the 5:11 mark of the fourth quarter on a layup by Camryn Walton with 5:11 to go. A total of 11 different players scored for Teutopolis. Katie Wendt led the Lady Wooden Shoes with 10 points. Megan Kroeger added 8. Elizabeth kelly led Carlinville with 4 points, all coming in the first half. Teutopolis finished the year with a 24-1 record. Carlinville finished at 23-4.
Quincy vs. Chatham Glenwood
In as hard fought, race horse first half, Chatham Glenwood grabbed a 3-2 lead after the first quarter and held on to lead, 8-7 at intermission. Half of Chatham Glenwood's points came from the foul line, and all were situations where the shooter made one of two foul shots. Courtney Morris led the Titans with 3 points. For Quincy, three players had a pair of points each. The second half was a turnaround from the first. Quincy scored the first 8 points of the third quarter to race to a 16-10 lead, sparked by a pair of baskets from Lindsey Barton. Barton's third basket of the 3rd quarter with 0:03 remaining pushed the Comets' lead to 18-11 after three. Then Quincy roared to a 24-14 margin before Chatham Glenwood started its comeback bid. The Titans scored eight straight points on baskets by Mariah Albert and Alexa Frank and pairs of free throws from Albert and leading scorer Allison Fraase. The two teams traded baskets and turnovers the rest of the way until Chatham Glenwood's Courtney Morris popped one in from the right baseline at 0:51 to cut the Quincy lead to 29-27. Chatham Glenwood got the ball back and called timeout with 0:28 to go, but a turnover opened the door for Quincy to put the Titans away. Quincy point guard Shelby Wires hit two free throws with 18 seconds left and another at 0:08 to seal the victory. Wires led Quincy in scoring with 7 points, all in the second half. Lindsay Barton added 6 more for the Comets. Allison Fraase led Chatham Glenwood with 9 points and Courtney Morris added 6. Quincy finished the year with a 20-1 record. Chatham Glenwood ended 21-4.
