Kenny Daggett

Mazon-Verona-Kinsman

Kenny Daggett

Principal: Mr. Tony DiNello

Kenny Daggett's commitment to excellence in academics and extracurricular activities has led to his selection as the Scholar Attitude Award winner for Board of Directors Division D.

Kenny has been named to High Honor Roll throughout his elementary and junior high career. As a three-sport athlete (basketball, track, baseball), Kenny has practice almost every day. "The fact that I can come home from every practice aching and drowsy and still finish my homework all the time makes me feel proud of myself," Kenny says.

In addition to sports, Kenny participates in Student Council, band and speech. He says he's learned the importance of sportsmanship in every interscholastic activity. "What I've learned from sports is that no matter what happens, if you miss a ball or strike out, you have to hold your head high. Move on and go on to the next play." In fact, Kenny feels participating in sports is so important that he would make all sports and school-related activities free to everyone regardless of financial background. If he could make one change in the world, he'd make it so students could join a new sport if they wanted to. Sports can also teach cooperation, sharing and compassion, he says. "It is important that children and adults be part of a group to feel acceptance, without the emphasis on winning. Self-confidence does not come from winning or losing, but how the outcome is handled," he says.

After high school Kenny plans to go to college. He's interested in the field of sports communication.
