Molly FitzPatrick

Barrington Station

Molly FitzPatrick

Principal: Dr. Craig Winkelman

Molly FitzPatrick's positive attitude, determination, and commitment to excellence in the classroom and while competing in cross country, track, and volleyball are some of the many reasons she was selected as the Scholar Attitude Award winner for Board of Directors Division A.

A decorated athlete, Molly also earned a perfect 4.0 GPA in seventh and eighth grade while participating in the Student Ambassadors Program and National Junior Honor Society for Barrington Station.

Throughout her time as a middle school student, Molly is most proud of her 2016 cross country season when she returned from an injury halfway into the racing schedule to finish fourth at the state meet. She notes, "I was going to make the best of it. The experience taught me the importance of staying positive and being patient when things do not go your way."

Similarly, Molly values sportsmanship and believes successful athletes demonstrate its characteristics of fair play, appreciation, integrity, and respecting officials. As a competitor, she appreciates her opponent's performance as well as her teammates' - as experienced during her track and soccer seasons. Notably, Molly witnessed exemplary sportsmanship during a soccer game and was able to show sportsmanship to her fellow runners at the track state meet after a tough race.

After high school, Molly plans to attend college with hopes of attending Boston College to study education. "I have had many teachers help me understand difficult concepts and how to be successful," Molly recalls. "I want to give back to the community and do what my teachers have done for me!"
