Kailyn Baalman

Hardin St. Norbert

Kailyn Baalman

Principal:

Kailyn Baalman of Hardin St. Norbert says her mantra directly relates to the whole point of the sportsmanship essay and she lives it courtesy of her parents to "lead by example". In addition to a long list of sports, academic and musical activities at school, Kailyn does just that by volunteering in several ways. For example, she has helped clean up her community during a 2008 town project and getting involved in her church.

It's the idea of 'leading by example' that leads her to what makes her most proud of herself. She says thinking about that concept regularly keeps her focused on what's important in life like being accepting and kind.

She hopes to maintain that focus as she entertains a medical career in the future. Kailyn is already well on her way having applied for a job shadowing position through a nearby hospital and learning from her grandfather who currently is a practicing physician.
