Allison Benner

Lincoln West Lincoln-Broadwell

Allison Benner

Principal:

At Lincoln West Lincoln-Broadwell, Allison Benner stays busy in several sports and activities including basketball, volleyball, the pom pon squad, scholastic bowl, art club, and student council.

The person Allison admires most is her mother for her support and ability to juggle a full-time teaching job along with family responsibilities involving Allison and her sister. In fact, in her own way, Allison wants to follow in her mother's footsteps by taking care of others as well by becoming a pediatrician.

Her proudest accomplishment? Making the pom pon squad after breaking her leg roller skating in physical education class. She says it was possible because, by chance, tryouts were delayed for a couple of months giving her leg time to heal. She says she did have to sit out the remainder of her volleyball season, but was able to play basketball the next year.

One of her biggest frustrations is that girls don't always get along with each other. She is disappointed by the cliques that form and wishes girls had more 'teamwork' mentality.
