Logan Orr

Herscher JHS

Logan Orr

Principal:

As far as Logan Orr of Hersher Junior High School is concerned the word sportsmanship is used so much, it could start losing meaning. In his opinion, sportsmanship is a lifestyle encompassing respect, class, perseverance and being a team player.

He strives for those traits while being involved in basketball, track, student council, band, scholastic bowl, and the spelling bee. In fact, this young man won the spelling bee in eighth grade and is a constant high achiever in sports, academics and music. He achieved first chair trombone in band and 'A' ratings at the solo/ensemble contests.

One thing Logan takes most seriously in his life is being a role model for younger kids. He knows the importance of setting a good example and considers it an honor that younger kids look up to him.

The one change he'd like to see in the world is fewer bad influences on kids and cites specifically some music and TV shows. He hopes more people work hard to shield kids from those influences, as well as protecting them from another issue that begins at home - domestic violence.
