IESA Administrative Assistant Position Available

The Illinois Elementary School Association announces plans to hire an Administrative Assistant to fill a vacancy.

This will be a full-time administrative assistant position. General responsibilities will include performing office duties to support the administrators of the Association. Other responsibilities of this position will also include those generally associated with a support staff position such as answering phones, opening mail, filing and database management. The candidate will assist greatly with the activities of Cheerleading, Baseball, Cross-Country, Wrestling, a student recognition program, and other duties as assigned. The candidate will work with all staff in preparation for state tournaments.

The following information should be considered:

   The following should be included:
   
   A. Letter of application expressing why the candidate is interested in applying;
   B. Resume;
   C. Names and contact information of three (3) personal references
   
   
   
2. The following shall be required qualifications of all candidates:
   
   A. Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, the internet, and social networking programs;
   B. Prior work experience in an administrative assistant role;
   C. Well-developed communication, time-management, and organizational skills;
   D. Willingness to work some evenings and weekends--there will be some required Saturday work days;
   E. Valid Illinois driver's license
   
   
   
3. The following shall be recommended qualifications of all candidates:
   
   A. Familiarity with the Association;
   B. Basic understanding of interscholastic activities and the role they play within a school;
   C. Ability to work in a small office setting
   
   
   
4. The total salary package will be commensurate with the experience and training of the selected candidate.
   
   
5. Office hours are 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. The office is open year-round but is closed on most school holidays including being closed during the traditional Winter Break.
   
   
6. The candidate selected will hopefully be able to start November 1, 2018
