Both teams had a slow start in the first half of play. Normal Epiphany struggled to run their offense and Carthage capitalized on their turnovers to take a 17-8 lead at the half. After the intermission, Carthage continued their fiery intensity and held the Knights scoreless in the third quarter while adding seven points to their lead which was punctuated by a baseline three by #11 Karli Artman. In the final quarter both teams had heavy legs and just seemed to be battling fatigue to the end. Epiphany never seemed to find their offensive groove in the game and Carthage guards continued to force so many turnovers in the second half of play.
