| Game Comments: Springfield Grant Starters 11, 15, 21, 25, 55. East St. Louis Lincoln Starters: 10, 11, 22, 25, 43. Springfield Grant's only loss this season was to Springfield Jefferson. East St. Louis Lincoln suffered its first loss of the year. East St. Louis Lincoln took a 1-0 lead and then Grant turned on the fast break afterburners, racing to a 21-10 lead with only seconds remaining in the first quarter. East St. Louis Lincoln made a run late in the second quarter. Trailing 33-18 with 1:24 to go in the half, the Tigers cut their deficit to 33-25 with 0:52 left in the half. In the third quarter, the Tigers narrowed the gap to 42-37. Grant jumped back into a comfortable lead to begin the fourth quarter and East St. Louis Lincoln made its final run, cutting the deficit to 50-44 with 3:55 to go. A layup and free throw by Grant's Greg Wilson put the lead back to 54-44 with 3:14 left in the game. Grant's Greg Wilson scored 16 of his 23 points in the first half and teammate Mark Gilchrese scored 10 of his 19 points in the fourth quarter. |
