Grant Leman

Roanoke-Benson

Grant Leman

Principal:

Grant Leman of Roanoke-Benson demonstrates his reliability every single day, regardless of the weather, delivering the Peoria Journal Star newspaper. He's been at it for well over a year and is proud to say he's delivered about twenty thousand papers to date with virtually no complaints. He is particularly proud of himself for this accomplishment because it's not only tough getting up early enough to get his route completed, but delivering during the coldest months of the year makes it especially difficult.

All the while, he's been involved in student council, band, baseball, basketball, speech and track, as well as his church.

One of the changes he'd like to see in the world is to have people concentrate on giving to one another. He says people are too focused on money. He mentions an Illinois governor and the national economic turmoil as results of that misplaced focus.

He sees himself as an attorney some day and plans to start his college education at a central Illinois school - maybe Bradley or Illinois State University.
