IMPORTANT Long Jump Information

Due to the large number of qualifiers in both the 7th and 8th grade girls long jump, changes are being made to the administration of the event. The 7th grade girls will start at 12:00pm as scheduled and the 8th grade girls will begin at 12:45pm. The boys' long jump will be conducted as scheduled with the 8th grade boys beginning at 12:00pm and the 7th grade boys will begin following the conclusion of the 8th grade boys' event.

A link to a track map has been included below to show you where each group will jump. The 7th and 8th grade girls will jump on the runway closest to the infield. The boys will jump on the runway closest to the track. Only state event workers will be permitted in the area in between the runways. The girls will share a long runway and will need to alternate jumpers so as not to interfere with another athletes attempt.

Athletes should stay off the runways if they are not jumping so they do not interfere with the other athletes and events jumping. Girls will be staged on the infield side and boys will be staged on the unused runway closest to the track.

Please make sure that you inform your athletes of the protocol that will be followed. Additionally, please inform your parents of the changes in the event start time.
