IESA Chess Webinar Scheduled For Wednesday, January 15

On Wednesday, January 15 at 4:00 p.m., the Illinois Elementary School Association will continue its interactive webinar series, this time introducing one exclusively designed to help educate IESA chess coaches. The presentation will be run by IESA Assistant Executive Director and Chess Administrator John Venerable, and will include questions and answers throughout.

All IESA chess coaches are strongly encouraged to take part in this interactive webinar, as well as any school that may send students to the IESA Chess Competition.

The webinar will focus around key information surrounding the IESA Chess Competition, as well as offer helpful hints and tips when assembling a school chess team. The presentation will also cover the numerous benefits of playing chess, both short term and long term, that could peak the interest of your participating students. Additional topics to be discussed include scheduling matches, encouraging students to participate, assessing your team, tips before your first tournament and much more!

The webinar, like all in the series, is free to view for anyone interested and is available for registration below:
