Playing Schedule:

Go to the IESA web site www.iesa.org. Click on the underlined words "Scholastic Bowl" in the box at the top of the home page. The schedule showing the dates and times of the matches, and the results when a match is completed, is on the scholastic bowl page.

Ticket Prices:

  • Adults and High School Students: $5.00
  • Students K-8: $2.00
  • Senior Citizens (62 and older): $2.00
  • Children Younger Than Kindergarten: Free

Where To Stay Scholastic Bowl:

Many hotels/motels in the area are working with the Bloomington-Normal Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau. They have established IESA rates for the weekend and should be your preferred properties. Regardless of where you choose to stay, be sure to tell the person taking your reservation or checking you in that you are attending the IESA State Final Scholastic Bowl event.

How To Get To The Match Site:

Heartland Community College is located in the northwest corner of Normal. From Interstate 55, Interstate 74 and/or Interstate 39, exit U.S. 51 Business Route South (Exit 165A) and head south into Normal. It becomes Main Street. Go about a quarter mile to Raab Road. Turn right on Raab Road and proceed to the campus.

Where To Park:

Parking for fans and parents is available in paved lots on the campus. Parking is free.

Where to Sit:

Match Rooms: Parents and fans are to sit in the area of the room designated for spectator seating.

  1. Once a match begins the room doors will close and no one will be allowed into the room until the two-minute halftime.
  2. Parents and fans are to show respect for the competitors during the match, and are expected to remain quiet throughout the match.
  3. Flash Photography is not allowed.
  4. There is to be no reproduction of the match questions in any form.

Consolation/Final Match Locations: Parents and fans are to sit in the area of the room designated for spectator seating. There is to be no communication between parents/fans and members of the teams during competition.

Awards Ceremony Location: Assembly Area, Lower Level of the competition building. Seating is general admission

The IESA, in conjunction with Heartland Community College, assigns seating to be used by the fans of the competing teams in each match. All seats for fans are unreserved.

What To And What Not To Wear:

We suggest you wear clothing in school colors to support your team and to help distinguish your cheering section in the stands.

IESA By-laws require that all fans attending an IESA state series contest wear shirts at all times they are on the site of the state final event. Shirts must be worn as designed by the manufacturer. Body paint is prohibited. This means spectators and athletes cannot have body paint concealed under their clothing and then remove clothing to display the body paint. Face painting is acceptable. Hair can be any color.

Signs and Banners:

IESA By-laws do not permit the displaying of signs, banners, balloons, and such, at the site of a state final event. Keep them at home.

Noisemakers:

IESA By-laws do not permit the use of noisemakers at the state final event. Examples of items that are not allowed include, but are not limited to, Cow Bells, Thunder Sticks, Milk Cartons with rocks inside, shakers, whistles, electronic sound making devices, and such. Come to the state final event ready to clap and cheer for your athletes.

Official Programs:

Printed programs, with team photographs and rosters and other information about the competing teams will be on sale the days of the state final for $5.00 each. They will be on sale in the Cafeteria and around the campus. They also may be purchased from the IESA Office following the conclusion of the state final if they are available. Price per program by mail is $7.50, which includes the cost of postage and handling.

Purchase Your Own Special Ad In The Official Program:

Parents, fans and/or the school or school booster club may purchase an advertisement in the printed program. The cost varies according to the size of the ad. Deadline for ordering an ad is Wednesday, May 6, 2009.

Purchase Team/Individual Photos:

Event Pro Photography is the official and only photographer authorized by IESA at state final events and provides a unique souvenir to parents, fans, coaches and school personnel. On the first day of all team sports state finals, Event Pro Photography staff takes an official tournament photo of each team and individual and offers a beautiful picture plaque to anyone attending the game. The photo plaque displays the school name along with "IESA State" logos and graphics. Before each team's first game is over, the plaques will be delivered to parents and fans for a cost of $20 each. They also are offering an 8 x 10 Memory Plaque that includes a team and individual photo for $35. At the state finals where there is individual competition - cross-country and track and field - Event Pro Photography staff can take photographs of individuals, relays and/or teams. Once again, all photo plaques are ready to take home before the day is over or while you wait. A team official can preorder photos from school prior to the state final event by calling Event Pro Photography, Monday-Thursday at (309) 689-0299.

Event Pro Photography will be headquartered in the Cafeteria inside facility. Orders can be made and picked up at Event Pro Photography operation in the facility.

Purchase Official State Final Apparel:

The Cubby Hole is the official and only vendor authorized by IESA to provide fans attending the state final events with the official tournament souvenir apparel. The lineup of souvenir apparel includes: Regular T-Shirts at $15, Long-sleeve T-Shirts at $18, crew neck sweatshirts at $22, hooded sweatshirts at $28, shorts at $18, visors at $12 and caps at $12. Cubby Hole also provides other specialty apparel at the different state finals, like Tank Tops at Track and Field. And you can have your official apparel lettered the way you want it at a cost of $3 for the first line and $2 for each additional line in up to 5 rows of 11 letters. Patches are sold depicting the year, state qualifier and sport for $2 each. You can pre-order your official apparel and lettering through your school. Each school entering the respective state series receives a Cubby Hole Pre-Order Form in a mailing from the IESA Office. Your official apparel can then be picked up at the state final site when you arrive.
