Match Comments: The Lovejoy Wildcats and the West Salem Warriors squared off in the third quarterfinal match of the day. The Wildcats got off to a tremendous start in the first set. Khadija Helms sparked the Wildcat run with five straight service points that ended with an ace. The Warriors hung around and started to chip away at the lead though. Soon enough they would find themselves tied with the Wildcats late in the set. The comeback was completed with an ace from Sarah Mewes to seal the victory for the Wildcats in the first set. The second set was another close one all the way down to the wire. Early service points Myrikal Pearson help the Wildcats out early on. But once again the Warriors managed to hang on to a slim lead and take the second set by a final of 25-21. The Warriors move on to the semifinals later today 5:15 p.m. Congratulations to the Wildcats on a great game and season.
