Match Comments: What a championship match. Both teams trying to find their game in the first points of the match, but Northbrook was the first to settle into a groove. Jefferson had some trouble passing early on and putting a good serve receive together. Mendota settled into a great defenseive match and ate up everything that Jefferson hit or served their way. Champaign brought the game back but ended the game on a serving error. in game two Champaign came back fired up and took the lead at 11-10 and never lost it. With some aggressive serving the Jaguars took game two. #13 Kelley Bowden was had some aggressive net play involved in two big blocks before she took over the serve the last 6 points and give Jefferson the game. #18 Riley Hill-Kartel also had 9 straight service points in this game. Game three went back in forth before the JAguars put together the final blow. Great defensive play by the Spartans kept the big hitters of Champaign frustrated all night. #28 Hollie Reppin was everywhere on the floor. Champaign Jefferson took the lead 19-16, but Serving Ace by #38 Kristen Fagerman and some hitting erros by Champaign had the game all tied at 19 a piece. After a hitting error by the Spartans giving Jefferson 20-19 lead which they never lost. Attacking a bad pass by the Spartans #21 Allie Shannon had the big kill 24-20 and the game ended on a net violation by Mendota.Congratulations to both teams on a fantastic match.
