| Match Comments: Lansing Memorial Starters: 11,20,12,16,23,14. Stanford Olympia Starters: 1,23,11,12,4,3. In Game 1 the score was tied at 1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 10 before Olympia went on a roll with Taylor Cremeens serving. She served for six straight points (including three ace serves) to put Olympia in front 17-10. Olympia built a 23-11 lead before Lansing Memorial made its run on the serving of Jullian Rodriguez, and Lansing Memorial cut the deficit to 24-19. In game 2, Olympia fell behind 13-6, was behind 14-10, 20-14 before putting on a charge to tie the score at 22-22 on an ace serve by Taylor Tammeus. The Spartans went ahead 23-22 on another ace serve by Tammeus and then Lansing Memorial's defense shut Olympia down and Memorial won the game 25-23. In Game 3, Olympia jumped ahead 5-2, but it was a dogfight the rest of the way. Olympia's largest lead was 13-9 when Lindsay Morr scored on an ace serve. Trailing 14-10, Lansing Memorial scored four straight for the first tie of the game at 14-14. The score was then tied at 16, 17, and 18 before Olympia scored four in a row to take a 22-18 lead. With Shelby Curtin serving, Lansing memorial ran off four in a row to tie the score for the last time at 22-22. Leading 24-22, Olympia got a picture perfect block from Anna Schmidgall on the right side of the net to clinch the 25-22 margin. |
