Game Comments: St. Agnes' Jillian Hulcher kicked off scoring tonight for the first semifinal game and this was followed by a Teutopolis (Carly Michels) and another St. Agnes 2-pointer. St. Agnes continued on a scoring run and took a 9-2 lead with 2:58 remaining in the 1st quarter - Teutopolis called a quick timeout to strategize. The Wooden Shoes' student section persisted in loudly cheering on their team that continued to battle on the floor, but St. Agnes didn't let up. The 1st quarter ended with a 17-2 St. Agnes lead. Teutopolis took possession to start the 2nd quarter - Emily Brenneisen sank 2 free throws for St. Agnes while Kylie Hoelscher put Teutopolis back on the scoreboard with a quick 2-pointer, bringing the score to 19-4, St. Agnes. Carly Michels had a defensive rebound and took the ball in the paint for a short jumper. With possession of the ball, St. Agnes' Emily Brenneisen is credited for the assist to Naudiyah Rucker-Cook and a Jillian Hulcher layup extended St. Agnes' lead 23-6 at the end of the 2nd quarter.

The 3rd quarter started and finished with St. Agnes going on a 13-0 run - Sofia Lowis sank a long 3-pointer to continue the run into the last minute of the quarter. The 4th quarter began with a St. Agnes assist from Sofia Lowis to Grace Lambert for 2 points. Teutopolis' Carly Michels drew the foul at 3:51 and made 1 of 2 free throws at the line. St. Agnes Naudiyah Rucker-Cook banked a jump shot and this prompted a Teutopolis timeout with St. Agnes taking the lead 40-7. St. Agnes continued to build their lead until the end of the game with a final score of 44-7.

Congratulations to the Wooden Shoes of Teutopolis - they enter the 3rd place game with a record of 17-9 and will play on Thursday, December 10 at 6:00 pm. The St. Agnes Aces will appear in the championship game at 7:30 pm on Thursday, December 10 at 7:30 pm. St. Agnes goes into the championship game with an undefeated record of 26-0. Good luck to both the Wooden Shoes and the Aces!
