Game Comments: The third quarterfinal matchup saw the Hilltoppers of Danville Schlarman take on the Rockets of Limestone Walters. The Hilltoppers started the game on fire. #20 Ariel Scott had four 3’s in the first quarter to help her team take the early lead. After the half, Limestone Walters got back some of the fire and held Schlarman scoreless in the first half of the third quarter and cut away at the lead to 3 points. The Hilltoppers lost their intensity for a but got some key baskets off of turnovers by the Rockets to maintain an 8 point lead for the rest of the game. The Hilltoppers were able to make their free throws in the 4th quarter to maintain their lead. #20 Scott went 9-16 from the free throw line in the final quarter and ended the game as the leading scorer with 21 points.
Congratulations to both teams on a great season. The Hilltoppers will play in the second semifinal game tonight.
