Game Comments: The second quarterfinal matchup pitted the Braves of Tonica against the Timberwolves of Findlay Okaw Valley. Both teams had a slow start working out the state game jitters in the first quarter and the play was all over the court. Both teams hit the free throw line quite a bit in the 2nd quarter and #10 Lindsey Rimes went 3-4 from the line for the Braves as did #32 Natalie Jetters for the Timberwolves. The teams went into the locker room one point apart. Both teams came out fired up in the third quarter. Tonica took the lead on baskets by #34 Madison Freeman and #20 Kendall Yeruski but some key turnovers by Tonica in the fourth quarter allowed Findlay to swing the momentum back their way. #32 Natalie Jetters was money from the free throw line going 8-11 for the night hitting key points in the 4th quarter. As the time fell off the clock, the Timberwolves held the ball for the last minute and Tonica could not get the clock stopped. The Braves did get one final shot with 3.2 seconds, but could get a good look.
Congratulations to both teams on a great season. The Timberwolves of Okaw Valley will play West Lincoln Broadwell in the 5:00 semifinal match-up tonight.
