  • 9:30-10:30 a.m. Weigh-ins
  • 11:30 a.m. - Championship Bracket First Round
  • 3:30 p.m. (Approx.) - Championship Bracket Quarterfinal Round & Wrestlebacks

Competition Schedule Saturday:

  • 9:00 a.m. - Second round of Wrestlebacks
  • 11:00 a.m. (Approx.) - Semifinal Round of Championship Bracket; Quarterfinal Round Wrestlebacks
  • 1:35 a.m. (Approx.) - Semifinal Round Wrestlebacks
  • 2:45 p.m. - Bouts for Third/Fourth Place and Fifth/Sixth Place
  • 4:45 p.m. - Parade of Champions (Finalists in 19 matches, both classes)
  • 5:15 p.m. - Championship Bouts (4 mats, 4 bouts conducted simultaneously)

State Final Results and Recap

Results will be updated periodically throughout the state tournament. Go to the IESA web site www.iesa.org. Click on the underlined word "Wrestling" in the box at the top of the home page. Click the appropriate link for the results you want to view.

Daily Ticket Prices:

  • Adults and High School Students: $15.00
  • Students K-8: $10.00
  • Senior Citizens (62 and older): $10.00
  • Children Younger Than Kindergarten: Free
  • Doors open at 10:00am on Friday; 8:00am on Saturday

Where To Stay Wrestling:

Many hotels/motels in the area are working with the Greater DeKalb Area Convention and Visitor's Bureau. They have established IESA rates for the weekend and should be your preferred properties. Regardless of where you choose to stay, be sure to tell the person taking your reservation or checking you in that you are attending the IESA State Final Wrestling event.

How To Get To the Site:

The Convocation Center is on the west side of the NIU campus just west of Huskie Stadium. From Interstate 88, exit onto Annie Glidden Road and go north to Lincoln Highway (Route 38). Turn left on Lincoln Highway (Route 38) and go west to the Convocation Center. From the west and east, travel accordingly to the Convocation Center.

NOTE: FOR THOSE DRIVING TO DEKALB WHO WILL BE TRAVELING ON THE I-88 TOLLWAY: THERE IS A TOLL CHARGE. PLEASE BE SURE YOU INFORM YOUR PARENTS, FANS, ETC. WHO WILL BE ATTENDING THE MEET OF THE TOLL CHARGE.

Where To Park:

Paved parking lots surround the Convocation Center. Do not park in restricted areas. There is no general parking in C-4. A $5.00 parking fee has been applied to all ticket prices.

Where to Watch The Competition:

Seating in the Convocation Center for spectators is general admission. Seating for the wrestlers and their coaches is designated and reserved for them. All spectators must sit in the upper bowl throughout the entire tournament. There is a specific location in the Convocation Center for spectators to stand when taking pictures. Tri-pod or monopod camera stands are not allowed.

What To Wear and What Not To Wear:

We suggest you wear clothing in school colors to support your team and to help distinguish your cheering section in the stands.

Be prepared for all types of weather.

IESA By-laws require that all fans attending an IESA state series contest wear shirts at all times they are on the site of the state final event. Shirts must be worn as designed by the manufacturer. Body paint is prohibited. This means spectators and athletes cannot have body paint concealed under their clothing and then remove clothing to display the body paint. Face painting is acceptable. Hair can be any color.

Signs and Banners:

IESA By-laws do not allow the displaying of signs, banners, balloons, and such, at the site of a state final event. Keep them at home.

Noisemakers:

IESA By-laws do not allow the use of noisemakers at the state final event. Examples of items that are not allowed include, but are not limited to, Cow Bells, Thunder Sticks, Milk Cartons with rocks inside, shakers, whistles, electronic sound making devices, and such. Come to the state final event ready to clap and cheer for your athletes.

Official Programs:

Printed programs, with complete pairings for all weight classes - giving competitor name and school -- and other information, will be on sale the day of the state final for $5.00 each. They also may be purchased from the IESA Office following the conclusion of the state final if they are available. Price per program by mail is $7.50, which includes the cost of postage and handling.

Purchase Your Own Special Ad In The Official Program:

Parents, fans and/or the school or school booster club may purchase an advertisement in the printed program. The cost varies according to the size of the ad. Deadline for ordering an ad is Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

Purchase Team/Individual Photos:

Event Pro Photography is the official photographer of the IESA. Anytime after the coaches meeting on Friday afternoon or sometime early Saturday morning, all teams need to report to the gymnasium where weigh-ins are conducted to have a photo of the team and individuals taken by the photographer. They will also be taking pictures of the place winners in all 19 weight classes on Saturday night. Parents, Coaches, and fans will be able to order picture plaques at a table set up inside the Convocation Center directly across from the administrative offices. All plaques will need to be picked up at the conclusion of the tournament on Saturday evening.  The price for the 8 x 10 picture plaque is $30.

Purchase Official State Final Apparel:

The Cubby Hole is the official and only vendor authorized by IESA to provide fans attending the state final events with the official tournament souvenir apparel. The lineup of souvenir apparel includes: Regular T-Shirts at $17, Long-sleeve T-Shirts at $19, crew neck sweatshirts at $25, hooded sweatshirts at $30, shorts at $18, visors at $12 and caps at $12. Cubby Hole also provides other specialty apparel at the different state finals, like Tank Tops at Track and Field. And you can have your official apparel lettered the way you want it at a cost of $4 for your name and $3 for numbers. Patches are sold depicting the year, state qualifier and sport for $3 each.

For those who want to pre-order your merchandise, the Cubby Hole will now allow individuals to pre-order. Teams will no longer pre-order. All pre-orders are handled on an individual basis.
