Game Comments: The final semi-final match-up saw two Wildcats face off to determine who would face Gifford in the championship game. Lovejoy and Cissna Park battled it out in this final match-up. Cissna Park was able to pull away in the second half, but both teams fought hard all game.
#23 Antwan Glasper put the first six points on the board with two free throws a jumper and lay-up. Cissna Park quickly tied it up at 6 on points from multiple players. The two teams battled it out trading points and turnovers in the first quarter of play. Lovejoy maintained a small one point lead on the offensive play of Glasper. In the second quarter #15 Brian Fehr drained a two baseline threes to give Cissna Park a three point lead. They added to their lead after a couple of costly turnovers by Lovejoy to go into the locker-room up 5 points. In the second half, Cissna Park increased their lead working the ball around the horn and waiting for the open shot to add to their lead. Lovejoy continued to fight throughout the game, but the deficit was too much to recover from.
Lovejoy had two players in double digits; #23 Antwan Glasper with 16 points and #21 Keymondre Lee with 14. These players also were perfect from the free throw line each going 6-6. Cissna Park was led by #15 Brian Fehr with 13 points, but had 8 players contribute points to their total. A real team effort. Lovejoy will play for the third place game on Thursday night against Ottawa Marquette. Cissna Park will play for the championship game against Gifford immediately following the third place game.
