Cissna Park held Bartonville Monroe scoreless in the first quarter with good defense and rebounding; taking away second chance points from the Flyers. But the Wildcats were tight on offense and were not able to pull away only scoring four points. In the second quarter Bartonville scored their first points while keeping it close to Cissna Park with their defense. #20 Nate Hollingsworth scored their first points with 3 min to play in the quarter. Cissna Park quickly had an answer, but both teams continued to play tight the entire first half. With a flurry at the end of the half, Bartonville tied the game at 10 apiece.
The second half saw both teams settle down a bit. #4 Michel Dunne of Bartonville drained a three to start the flyers off with the lead. Cissna Park had a quick answer as the teams traded baskets and the Wildcats retook the lead. #20 Nate Hollingsworth drained a three for the Flyers to cut the lead to one point, but #11 Keegan Boyle shot a nice 2-point jumper to answer and the Wildcats took a 3 point lead into the fourth quarter. In the final quarter, Cissna Park moved the ball around the horn to help open up the lane and take time off the clock. #5 Zach Ori tied the game at 25 apiece with a three, but Cissna Park had a quick answer to take the lead again at 27-25 with 2:30 to play. With 25 seconds to play #22 Cole Tanner drains a three to tie the game, but Cissna Parks #4 Christian Stadeli was fouled as he drove the lane. Christian drained the first and Cissna Park called a time-out. He drains the second. Bartonville comes down the court with 20 seconds to play and the Flyers coach calls his final timeout with 7.9 seconds. The Flyers inbound the ball and #15 Brian Fehr’s pressure caused a turnover. He was fouled and went to the line with 1 second to play even though he missed his free throw, Bartonville was only able to get off a full court desperation shot to end the game. Leading scorer for the game was #4 Christian Staddeli for Cissna Park. Congratulations to both teams on a great season. Cissna Park will play Lovejoy in the 6:30 semi-final game tonight.
