| Game Comments: The second quarterfinal match-up pitted the Cardinals of East St. Louis Clark against the Comets of Champaign Edison. The Cardinals jumped out to an early lead with their up-tempo play, but the comets hung tough. Clark's Teantez Anthony had 8 of his game high 18 points in the first quarter scoring half the teams points. The Comets were within 6 at the half. After the half the Cardinals came out fired up and started to pull away with their best quarter of play scoring 18 points. Aaron Metts added 17 points to Anthony's 18. The lead was too much for Champaign to overcome. Edison saw scoring from multiple players but were led by Sam Lessaris and Julian Hess. Congratulations to both teams on a great season. East St. Louis Clark will play Normal Kingsley in the first semi-final game tonight. |
