| Game Comments: East St. Louis Lincoln Starters: 5, 15, 24, 25, 32. Champaign Jefferson Starters: 23, 34, 42, 44, 55. East St. Louis Lincoln jumped to a 23-12 lead halfway through the second quarter, but Champaign Jefferson went on a run to cut the deficit to 23-20 in the final seconds of the half. Champaign Jefferson cut the deficit to 28-27 with 53.2 seconds left in the third quarter and had a chance to take the lead with 32.3 seconds left with Devon Johnson at the foul line. He missed a pair of free throws. A baseline driving layup by Jefferson's Ronnell Jones cut the deficit to 32-31 with 4:15 to go in the fourth quarter but a layup by East St. Louis Lincoln's Tyshaun Stainback put the Tigers on top 34-31 and then they pulled away. Champaign Jefferson shot itself in the foot at the free throw line making only 2 of 17 foul shots. Jefferson was 0-4 from the foul line in the 1st quarter, 0-5 in the 2nd, 1-6 in the 3rd and 1-2 in the 4th. |
