Game Comments: Chad Green hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning to give Effingham JHS a 2-0 lead. In the second, Effingham JHS added two more runs when the Mustangs loaded the bases on three walks and Cody McCollum drove the runs in with a single. Blake Janesky drove in a run for North Ridge in the bottom of the third inning and the Ridge Runners cut the deficit to 4-2. In the top of the fifth, Brad Reedy scored on a sacrifice fly from Chad Green. North Ridge scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to tie the game at 5-5. Mickey Meeker scored on a passed ball for the first run and Blake Janesky doubled home the other two runs. Chase Green and Cody McCollum both walked to start the Effingham JHS sixth. They both scored when Brad Reedy's chopper two hopper went through the shortstop for a two-run error. Effingham JHS finished with a 21-5 record. Danville North Ridge ended 13-5 |
